Just prior to the outbreak there were reports of Tropical disease samples that were stolen in Kawempe, Uganda.  The samples are reportedly from a region of Uganda where Chimp cannibalism was disturbingly high.  A number of park conservationists have also disappeared from that region.  A doctor who, is now missing among them, sent an email to the UN reporting that there were fears of some sort of ‘outbreak’ after many of the people in the area began to fall ill.

Breaking News: Strange Brain Virus Detected in East Africa

At midnight tonight doctors at Mulago hospital in Kampala, Uganda brought in a seriously injured patient who was suffering from a heavy loss of blood.  The patient was left in the waiting room unattended, as is often the case.  Several hours later a number of staff and patients were reported missing.  A friend at a local media outlet sent out the following email, which leaked from, the Ugandan U.S. Embassy:
“Strange things are occurring. Overnight, over 100 people have disappeared.  Doctors are reporting similarly strange symptoms across seemingly un-related patients.  A type of brain disease that affects the central nervous system.  We are quarantining this region until further notice.”

At midnight tonight doctors at an unnamed East African hospital hospital brought in a seriously injured patient who was suffering from a heavy loss of blood.  The patient was left in the waiting room unattended, as is often the case.  Several hours later a number of staff and patients were reported missing.  A friend at a local media outlet sent out the following email, which leaked from, the U.S. Embassy:
“Strange things are occurring. Overnight, over 100 people have disappeared.  Doctors are reporting the same strange symptoms across seemingly un-related patients.  A type of brain disease that affects the central nervous system and brain.  The disease seems highly contagious.  Because of the possibilities, with so many patients unaccounted for, we are quarantining this city until further notice.”

Since that report all media communication has ceased from Kampala, the capital of Uganda. My wife is a nurse working there.  She just landed yesterday, I hope she’s okay.
